Andrew Madsen began grilling and preparing meals as a hobby during his employment as USCG certified captain aboard a privately owned sport fishing yacht in the waters of South Florida and the Bahamas in 2000.
His hobby drew attention from fellow boaters, and soon Andrew’s interest in the culinary arts became his passion. He attended the esteemed Cambridge School of Culinary Arts in 2003, a school founded by Roberta Dowling and Julia Child. He was awarded not only his Professional Chef’s certificate, but the esteemed recognition of the Lillian A. Avalone award as the most promising student in the culinary arts.
Today, Andrew focuses his energy on the Mystic Soup Co., the restaurant he conceptualized and opened in 2008. Mystic Soup Co. and a near cult following by local residents who appreciate the simple menu of great soups, fresh bread and sandwiches made from scratch every day.
